Sam Watson of Team United States achieved a new world record of 4.75 seconds in the Men’s Speed, Qualification Seeding event at the Olympic Games Paris 2024 in Paris, France. The 18-year-old climber excelled in the speed climbing competition, demonstrating exceptional upper and lower body strength.
Despite his groundbreaking performance, he mentioned having achieved an even better time during practice. Reflecting on his experience at the Paris games, Watson expressed his joy and gratitude at being part of Team USA and meeting his childhood idols.
He described the Olympics as one of his favorite life experiences, emphasizing the significance of the event and the people he met.
