Skylar Thompson, a 27-year-old, managed to accumulate 80 passing yards despite joining the game in the third quarter. With the recent injury to Tua, he is expected to start in the upcoming games until Tua is cleared to return.
Thompson was born on June 4, 1997, in Palmyra, Missouri, and attended Kansas State University where he played college football. He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in 2022 in the seventh round and has achieved 614 yards and one touchdown since joining the NFL.
He has appeared in eight games, starting twice in the 2022 season. Thompson mentioned in a post-game interview that he feels confident in his ability to step up and is ready for whatever is to come.
He also expressed his relationship with Tua, stating that they have built a great relationship. The team is currently evaluating the pros and cons of the different situations to do the best thing for the team.
