Joey Chestnut, a competitive eater, has an impressive record of winning the hot dog eating title 15 times and has achieved a record of consuming 76 hot dogs in 10 minutes in 2021. He claimed his 16th title in 2023 by eating 62 hot dogs, despite falling short of his personal best. In addition, Chestnut won the first Qdoba Burrito Eating contest in April 2023 by consuming 14.5 burritos in 10 minutes. He also set records for consuming the most Raising Cane’s chicken fingers in five minutes (44) in July 2022 and eating 32 servings of 24oz popcorn in eight minutes in August 2022.

However, Chestnut faced several challenges, including suffering a compound fracture of his right leg and undergoing two surgeries in December 2021. He also had a COVID-19 diagnosis that forced him to withdraw from a donut-eating competition. Additionally, he overcame personal tragedy with the loss of his mother in June 2022. Despite these obstacles, Chestnut remains unmatched in hot dog-eating contests, as the annual July 4 competition has consistently been successful for him since his only defeat to Matt.

Chestnut has become the face of eating contests and is celebrated for his remarkable achievements in competitive eating.
