Prior to this announcement, Slim released a teaser clip where he mentioned the album would drop in Summer 2024. Additionally, Eminem had recently released a song called “Houdini” at the end of May, which was reminiscent of his *Eminem Show* era.
There had been speculation among fans about a song titled “Will Never Forget” after a fake obituary for Slim Shady appeared in the *Detroit Free Press*, Eminem’s local newspaper. It is also anticipated that Eminem’s long-time collaborator Dr. Dre will handle some of the album’s production. While the details about the record have been kept under wraps, Eminem did place a fake obituary in his local paper, hinting at Slim Shady’s untimely end. Slim Shady, one of Eminem’s alter-egos, is well-known for his appearance in numerous songs, including hits like “My Name Is” and “The Real Slim Shady”, and he was first introduced on the *Slim Shady EP*.
This character is characterized by violent and nihilistic lyrics with a comedic twist. Eminem also took aim at other artists in his recent work, referencing Diddy and his recent legal issues, as well as dissing Kanye West and alluding to other artists in his song “Antichrist”.
