Jade Carey Explains Floor Routine Fall at 2024 Olympics in Interview with Hollywood Life

During day two of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 at the Bercy Arena, Jade Carey from Team United States competed in two events – floor exercise and vault. She performed well on the vault, recording an average score of 14.433 across two attempts. This score is expected to place her in the eight-woman final on the apparatus.

Despite a struggle on her final tumbling pass, Carey currently sits second in the vaulting standings, having successfully executed a Cheng vault and a double-twisting Yurchenko for a 14.433 average. It is likely that she will advance to the apparatus final there. Carey had to withdraw days before the Tokyo Games in 2020 due to a positive COVID-19 diagnosis.

Even after her performance in Paris, she expressed that she had no energy and wasn’t feeling well. Despite her struggles, her teammates expressed pride in their achievements. They are determined to continue their efforts.

In response to Carey’s health challenges, a three-time Olympic champion noted the difficulty of performing at the peak level without proper health and wellbeing. He expressed admiration for Carey’s remarkable performance despite her illness.
