The book, slated for release on August 6, details the events that transpired between William, 42, and Kate, 42, during their brief breakup in 2007. The couple first met in college in 2001 and began dating by 2002.
After living together and establishing a serious relationship, Kate was invited to attend William’s military graduation in December 2006. An excerpt from the biography describes an emotionally charged conversation in which they both acknowledged being on “different pages.”
The biography also reveals that Kate decided to hide her pain from the outside world, despite feeling distraught over the split. William, on the other hand, began having second thoughts about ending things with Kate.
They eventually reunited at a costume party in 2007, where they spent time deep in conversation before kissing on the dance floor. Following their reconciliation in 2007, William and Kate tied the knot in 2010 and have since welcomed three children together.
William remarked that the split occurred while they were at university, emphasizing that they were both trying to find themselves at a young age. Kate reflected on the experience, stating that although she wasn’t initially happy about it, the breakup ultimately made her a stronger individual.
She emphasized the value of that time for self-discovery, acknowledging that it had been a period of personal growth, despite her initial lack of appreciation for it.
