Simone, 27, finished her iconic floor routine with a score of 14.133 at her third Olympic Games. Despite receiving a penalty of -0.6 for stepping out of bounds, she was happy with her performance. On the other hand, 23-year-old Jordan initially scored 13.166 but challenged her difficulty score, resulting in an increased score of 13.766 and securing a third place for the bronze medal. After the score change, Jordan was emotional and hugged her coaches and Simone.
Following the podium ceremony, Simone and Jordan showed their support for Rebeca by bowing down to her, with all three Olympians closing the final event in gymnastics together. Jordan praised Rebeca, and the trio displayed a strong sense of camaraderie and support for each other during the Paris Olympics. Simone, as the most-decorated gymnast of all time, narrowly lost to Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade on the floor routine, earning silver and her 11th Olympic medal. During a press conference in Paris, Simone expressed her respect for Rebeca and acknowledged that the competition brought out the best in her.
She commended Rebeca as a good competitor and expressed her excitement and pride in competing with her, while also humorously stating that she does not want to compete with Rebeca anymore.
