The artists are set to perform at New York’s UBS Arena on Wednesday, September 11th, after the show’s original date was changed from Tuesday, September 10th to avoid conflicting with the upcoming presidential debate. Halsey, who released her single “Lucky” earlier this summer, revealed that she has been battling a secret illness and feels fortunate to be alive.
In a June Instagram post, Halsey captioned, “Long story short, i’m Lucky to be alive [sic].” She also mentioned her album in the post. Lenny is slated to make her first live performance at the awards show in more than 20 years.
Additionally, LISA, who made history at the 2022 VMAs by becoming the first solo female K-pop star and Korean soloist to win, will be performing. Chappell, who previously had breakout performances at Lollapalooza and the Governor’s Ball, will also take the VMAs stage for the first time, with three award nominations.
