The UK broadcaster announced that they will be producing a celebrity edition of the mystery show. The news was revealed by the BBC Press Office on August 22, 2024, and was confirmed by Kalpna Patel-Knight, the Head of Entertainment at the BBC. Patel-Knight stated that *The Traitors* has become a highlight of the year and the upcoming fourth season, along with the new celebrity version, will take the series to a whole new level.
*Celebrity Traitors* is expected to be released in 2025, but no celebrities have been confirmed as cast members yet. In a video clip, Courteney initially appeared fully cloaked while standing beside Claudia, who invited viewers to participate in the series. Courteney later revealed her face to the camera and asked Claudia if she could join the show, to which Claudia responded with a playful rejection.
After the video circulated on social media, fans encouraged the network to create a celebrity edition of the series.
