The Italian Coast Guards recovered bodies from the sinking of the British-flagged luxury yacht Bayesian off the coast of Sicily. The yacht, carrying 22 people including 10 crew members, sank after being struck by a waterspout while anchored near Porticello harbor. Among the missing were UK tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch, his daughter Hannah, and Jonathan Bloomer, the chair of Morgan Stanley International, and his wife Judy.

The body of a victim, yet to be formally identified, was brought ashore. The recovery of the body on Friday brought the total number of victims to seven. Divers searching for the missing individuals found four bodies, while eight survivors were taken to a hospital and the rest were accommodated in a nearby hotel.

The body of Mike Lynch was discovered inside the sunken vessel, resting at a depth of more than 160 feet. The Bloomer family expressed their grief in a statement and thanked the emergency services and everyone involved in the rescue operation. According to the Italian news agency Adnkronos, the victims were found outside their cabins, indicating that they had sought escape routes.

The recovery operations reported that the passengers reached the opposite side of the vessel they were in. The discovery of Hannah’s body marked the conclusion of the search for the missing individuals from the yacht.
