Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis’ absence in ‘Beetlejuice’ Sequel – Hollywood Life

The author of the “Beetlejuice” movie, Tim Burton, revealed that he considered exploring the relationship between three generations of women – the mother, daughter, and granddaughter. He expressed that such a theme would have been the main focus of the movie. However, he admitted that he couldn’t have created this concept back in 1989. After the original “Beetlejuice” movie, there was hope among fans that the characters played by Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis would make a cameo appearance in the sequel “Beetlejuice 2”.

However, Geena Davis confirmed that she was not asked to reprise her role as Barbara Maitland. She also shared her theory on why the Maitlands were not included in the sequel, explaining that she believed ghosts do not age and that their characters were stuck looking the way they did when they died. While Geena Davis will not be appearing in the sequel, she expressed an interest in watching the trailer for the movie, revealing that she had heard people were emotional after watching it and was curious to see it for herself.
