Authorities in Alamo, Tennessee announced via Facebook on Monday, September 2 that police had responded to a call at a local zoo, where a guest was reportedly bitten by a camel. Deputies arrived and were met with suspicious odors emanating from the guest’s vehicle. Following the incident, 1,000-lb Sisters star Amy Slaton was taken into custody on charges of drug possession and child endangerment.
This was in response to the reported camel bite at the zoo. Crockett County police concluded their post by stating that the charges and allegations mentioned were accusations of criminal conduct and not evidence. They emphasized that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
It remains unknown who claimed to have been bitten by the camel at the zoo, and Slaton had not made any public comments about her arrest at the time of publication. Slaton and her ex-husband share custody of their sons Gage and Glenn. In a December 2023 episode of *1000-Lb.
Sisters*, Slaton had spoken about their separation and her ex’s attitude towards parenting.
