Quan was 34 years old when his girlfriend found him unresponsive and called 911. Additionally, his cause of death is still undetermined.
In a 2014 interview, the rapper mentioned his love for literature and creative writing prior to pursuing a music career in 2011. He reflected on his time spent in jail, stating that it was there he read his first book.
Despite being a smart student and having a GPA of 3.2, as well as a baseball scholarship offer, he ended up involved in burglaries and spent time in jail before finding success in the music industry. Although he had received a scholarship offer from Fort Valley State University, he admitted to having focused more on the streets than on his education.
Quan and his girlfriend, Williams, were together for an unspecified period and had two children but were never married. On the day of his death, Williams initially thought he was asleep and covered him with a blanket before taking their son to school.
Upon her return, she found Quan unresponsive and called for help. Paramedics arrived and pronounced Quan dead at the scene.
An autopsy, as reported, is scheduled for September 6th.
