John’s show features satirical skits that sometimes include his fake wife Wanda Jo Oliver, portrayed by Kate Norley. Kate joined the U.S. Army at 19 following the 9/11 attacks and served as a combat medic and mental health specialist in Iraq.
In 2008, John and Kate met at the Republican National Convention, where John was covering the event and Kate was promoting Vets for Freedom. At the time, John, who is British, had a temporary work visa and almost faced deportation if not for Kate’s intervention.
They have kept most details of their wedding private. During Kate’s pregnancy, John mentioned the challenging experience she faced, being in the hospital for months before their son Hudson’s birth, and also kept the birth a secret for over a year and a half.
He later revealed the birth of his second son after the child was three months old, indicating it wasn’t initially announced because it “doesn’t matter” to him, though he later clarified its significance. John humorously mentioned that their child was not royal, referring to him as a “peasant” in line for the throne.
