It’s more about learning what love is, the *Dancing with the Stars* co-host said, “Coming out is one of the most vulnerable and empowering things that you can do.” She expressed her love for people and spoke about not knowing what she is attracted to, but choosing to be with someone. Hough reflected on seeing people for their hearts and essence and feeling a sense of love towards them.
She emphasized feeling a safety with her husband as she unpacked her feelings and experiences. Hough married Laich in 2017 and finalized their divorce in 2022, describing their marriage as the “greatest thing that could have happened to me at that time” in an interview on Aug. 27. She discussed her needs to reconnect with her 10-year-old self and the stability she sought, reflecting on the dynamic with her ex-husband and the different needs that emerged as she healed and grew.
As she transformed and questioned her beliefs, Hough realized the need for a change in their relationship dynamic. Her evolving path led her to acknowledge the need for different things and the changes she was undergoing as she grew into her womanhood.
