Pop singers and rock stars are scheduled to perform at New York’s UBS Arena on Wednesday, September 11. The original date of the show was Tuesday, September 10, but was changed to avoid clashing with the upcoming presidential debate. Halsey recently released her single “Lucky” and disclosed that she has been battling a secret illness, expressing gratitude for being alive. In June, Halsey shared on Instagram, “Long story short, I’m Lucky to be alive [sic].”
She also revealed that she wrote an album, beginning with “The End.” This marks Lenny’s first live performance at an awards show in over 20 years. LISA made history at the 2022 VMAs by becoming the first solo female K-pop star and Korean soloist to win, and will be making her debut performance at the VMAs. Chappell, who broke out with performances at Lollapalooza and the Governor’s Ball, will also take the stage for the first time at the VMAs and is nominated for three awards.
Anitta, the first Brazilian artist to win a VMA in 2022, is now up for her third nomination in the Best Latin video category.
