However, her ex-husband will be relinquishing his credits and royalties in the songs they wrote together. The divorce was finalized in a Tennessee courtroom, during which her ex-husband referred to their time together as a “scam” and described the situation as the most “crazy insane scam” he had ever heard of. He expressed regret at the way things had played out, citing a web of lies that put him in physical danger, and expressing that it was a matter of the heart.
The singer filed for divorce in May after seven months of marriage, citing “irreconcilable differences” and “inappropriate marital conduct.” Her ex-husband also requested an annulment on the grounds that “consent to marriage was obtained by fraud.” The couple’s official date of separation was listed as May 22. The divorce was marked by a lack of public photos of them together since April, despite their earlier expressions of love and togetherness on social media.
The now-estranged pair went public with their romance in August 2022, having previously split and divorced after more than 20 years of marriage. The couple has collaborated together multiple times and most recently released their single “After The Storm.” They have not confirmed or denied any speculation surrounding their relationship, but have expressed gratitude for their fans and their connection with them.
