Miley Cyrus, a 31-year-old Grammy Award winner and former Disney Channel star, was honored as a Disney Legend at the 2024 D23 fan convention in Anaheim, California. During her acceptance speech, Miley expressed gratitude towards the Walt Disney Company and her fans, becoming emotional as she spoke.
She humorously reflected on her transformation from her Disney days to her *Bangerz* album, jokingly attributing any deviation from expectations to a bug in the system. Miley also fondly recalled her time portraying the character Hannah Montana and encouraged her audience to embrace the idea that there is no such thing as failure when one tries.
She shared a secret, noting that even legends experience fear, but what sets them apart is their ability to push forward despite it. Aside from Miley, other notable figures were also recognized as Disney Legends.
Miley concluded her speech by dedicating the award to her character, Hannah, and her dedicated fans, ending with a reference to one of her Disney Channel counterpart’s songs. After portraying Hannah Montana from 2006 to 2011, Miley continued to express gratitude for her role as the teen pop star.
She has even performed songs from the show’s movie throughout her career.
